During a routine inspection
People rated the service highly. One person said "I've been coming for years. It's great! Excellent treatment." Another person told us "I've been coming for some time. I used to be nervous. I'm always offered an injection. It's marvellous. Total confidence."
Patients told us they were involved in their treatment plans and their permission was always sought before any treatment commenced. We saw patients had a detailed treatment plan which they signed as consent to the treatment and costs.
Staff followed guidance from the Mental Capacity Act (2005) to support patients with impaired mental capacity. Staff we spoke with were aware of the legal requirements of consent with regards to treatment for children.
We found the provider had procedures to ensure other healthcare professionals who may have been involved in people's care were kept fully informed of the outcome of the treatment. We saw from people's records appropriate referrals were made to other healthcare professionals.
The provider had appropriate information in the practice and on the website to inform people of their complaints procedure.
