During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

We visited Romiley Dental Practice in February 2012 and found that improvements were required in their local adult safeguarding policy and that staff required training in adult safeguarding. Following the inspection the provider prepared an action plan. The provider set realistic timescales by which the improvements would be made and a person with lead responsibilities for the actions was identified.

During this follow up review we found that the improvements required had been made by the provider. This meant that staff knew what to do if they suspect a person who used the service was at risk of abuse and who to contact in relation to safeguarding people who use services from abuse.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with patients attending for an appointment they told us; "I am very happy with the treatment I receive", "I can have an appointment to suit me", "I would ring the surgery if I needed emergency treatment and they would try and fit me in, if it was weekend there is an emergency number", "the dentist asks about my general health and I am asked to sign a consent form before my treatment."
