During a routine inspection
Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. People's dental needs were assessed before any treatment was planned. One person told us their child's treatment had been explained and clear verbal instructions were given before and following treatment.
People were treated in an environment that was clean and hygienic. There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. There was an infection control policy and a dedicated infection control lead who was responsible for ensuring that all protocols were followed.
Staff received appropriate professional development. All staff carried out training relevant to their practice.
The provider had systems to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of people using the service and staff. We saw completed risk assessments completed for the environment and fire safety and audits on the quality of X-rays. Risks were identified and measures were put in place to mitigate the risks to people.
