During a routine inspection
From the feedback of what people who used the service had told us we found people were impressed with the treatment provided. People spoken with felt confident in their dentist. One person said the dentist was 'super, they listen and they are thorough'. Another person commented when asked what they thought of the practice 'very good, great with the kids, understands the needs of the family and good to have a consistent dentist'. Another person said 'I am made to feel valued as a patient'.
The provider had followed appropriate guidance in relation to its infection control processes. The manager had ensured that staff were aware of how to recognise signs of abuse and how to report it internally and externally. The provider audited its practices, although sometimes they did not evidence what improvements had been made to the service.
People told us they were involved in their treatment decisions, which was explained clearly to them and was provided with different options of treatment. However, treatment notes were limited in detail and may not indicate what treatment people had received and why.
