Our view of the service
Date of assessment 15 July 2024 to 31 July 2024. This assessment was in response to CQC receiving information of concern. People did not always receive safe care. Risks to people were not always identified recorded or reviewed. Medicines, the environment and infection prevention risks were not always managed in a safe way. There was a lack of learning within the home, and safeguarding procedures were not always followed. Assessments had not always been completed to identify people’s individual needs and people’s care was not always responsive to their needs or delivered in a person-centred way. People’s health needs were not always fully considered or responded to and advice from professionals was not always followed. The principles of The Mental Capacity Act 2005 were not always followed. Dignity and independence were not always fully considered. People did not always have information provided to them in a format they could understand. The systems in place to monitor and improve the home were not effective. The home was not well managed, and this was reflected in the home’s culture. There were enough staff available, however they were not always safely recruited and did not always have the appropriate level of skills, knowledge and competency to support people. However, people had access to GP’s and felt the home was responsive when they were unwell.
People's experience of this service
We received mixed feedback from people. Some people raised concerns around the environment, their involvement with care and how this was delivered. However, they were happy with how their medicines were managed, the amount of staff available and they felt their care was delivered in a consistent manner.
