During a routine inspection

We visited the practice on two days. On the first we looked at the building and the facilities provided as well as records, and talked to staff. Because this was an emergency service and there were no patients available we returned on the next day and spoke with three patients together with a carer. The patients told us 'The service is really good' and 'I can't believe it. I wasn't expecting to be seen and to be treated all in one day'. We also looked at patient feedback forms which the provider collected after each consultation. These included comments such as 'Keep up the good work', and 'Excellent'.

We found that the provider involved patients in their treatment by giving them information about it and helping them to make choices where possible. We saw that patients were treated with dignity and respect. We found that the building and facilities were clean and that there were procedures in place to limit the chance of infection. We found that the provider had taken steps to ensure that staff were suitably experienced and qualified to work in a dental practice and had made arrangements to receive complaints and act upon them.
