During a routine inspection
People told us they had been asked for their medical histories when they first started using the service including any allergies they experienced and medications they were taking. They said the information was updated on each visit. They told us they received a full dental examination on their first visit and these were repeated regularly. The people we spoke with said they found making appointments a straightforward process and felt they were able to get the appointments they wanted. They said they were seen very quickly when they had a dental emergency.
People said they found the environment and equipment very clean and well maintained. They told us that staff would always wear gloves and face masks during their care and treatment and some people had noticed how instruments were sealed in packaging before use and how the dental nurse would commence cleaning immediately after their treatment session.
One person said of Market Square Dental Practice: 'It's a very good service. I am very satisfied and as far as going to the dentist is concerned, it's very pleasant'. Another person said: 'Everyone is generally frightened of going to the dentist, but here I'm put at ease and it's very professional. You're made very comfortable by a very good all round service'.
