During a routine inspection
The people we met had been using the practice for many years. They described the staff as 'courteous' 'professional' and 'very kind and friendly.' One person particularly liked the practice because it was family run and they saw 'regular faces.' Another person felt their treatment was personalised and the practice was 'very homely.'
We saw that staff were polite and attentive when people arrived at the practice and when arranging appointments with people over the telephone.
Records we looked at showed that people who used the service were involved in any decisions about their dental treatment.
All areas of the practice appeared clean, tidy and hygienic and there were effective systems in place to prevent and control infection. Appropriate arrangements were in place to check that equipment was safely maintained and suitable for use.
Staff had undertaken relevant qualifications to care for people and received regular training to keep their skills and knowledge up to date.
The provider had effective systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service. Recent surveys completed by some of the people who attended the practice were all complimentary about the service.
