During a routine inspection
The practice facilities were clean and well maintained with appropriate floor and surface coverings. We saw evidence that protective equipment was available for staff and for people to use during treatments. We found that staff received appropriate professional development and were able to obtain further qualifications. Staff we spoke with told us, 'This is a lovely practice. We all get on very well. We are such a small practice. We have been together for a long time.' Another said, 'The dentist is a very good boss to work for.' One member of staff told us, 'If there was anything I was unhappy with I would go straight to the manager or the dentist. But we know each other so well it is easy to talk to each other.'
People were asked for their views about their care and treatment on an on-going informal basis. If people had any concerns or complaints we were told that this was acted upon immediately. Staff told us, 'All the patients have been with us a long time; they would tell you if something was wrong,' and 'It is a small practice in a small town. People would tell you if they had a problem. I have not experienced this.'
