During a routine inspection
Staff explained the risk and benefits of various treatments and provided details of the expected outcome. The records showed us consent was sought from people appropriately before any treatment began. People's medical and dental health needs were accurately documented and updated at each visit. One person told us 'They always ask me how I am and if my medication has changed.'
We saw the practice was clean and hygienic and the staff followed appropriate infection control policies and procedures when carrying out treatment of patients.
Staff told us they felt well supported by management and were offered appropriate training. People using the service were protected in emergencies because staff were trained in first aid and resuscitation and had access to emergency medication and equipment.
People told us the practice sought their views about the quality of services provided. One person commented in a recent satisfaction survey 'I usually hate coming to the dentist but you made the whole experience OK.'
