During a routine inspection
With people's permission, we observed two dental consultations. We also looked at dental records and other records kept by the provider.
People using the service were given appropriate information and support regarding their care or treatment. They understood the care and treatment choices available to them. People told us that practice staff were always respectful and put them at ease.
People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs. People were complimentary about their treatment, which was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. They were able to get emergency appointments when needed. There were arrangements in place to deal with medical emergencies.
The provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent it from happening.
People were protected from the risk of infection and were cared for in a clean environment.
We saw the provider enabled staff to maintain their skills and knowledge.
The provider had effective systems to check and monitor the quality of their service. There were also systems to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of people using the service and others.
