During a routine inspection
Records showed that people's needs were assessed and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan.
We saw that people were treated in a clean and tidy environment. People that we spoke with told us that they found the surgery clean and they confirmed that the dentist and the dental nurse wore protective equipment, such as gloves and masks.
A dental nurse told us that the dentist they worked with was very approachable. They said, 'I don't feel that there's anything I can't approach him about.' They explained that they had not yet had an appraisal as they were recently employed, although they were aware that these had just been carried out at another one of the provider's services. Staff received appropriate professional development.
We saw that a feedback questionnaire was sent to people who used the service annually. The results of these were reviewed and, where any issues were identified, we saw that the provider ensured that the person was contacted. The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
