During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this onsite, announced assessment on 19 November 2024. We found the practice had met all regulations. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. The practice is in Leamington Spa and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. A portable ramp was used to gain access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people were available near the practice. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, including the provider, 2 dental nurses, 1 receptionist and the business manager.

During a routine inspection

During our inspection we met with the principal dentist, practice manager, a second dentist, dental nurses, and the receptionist. We spoke with four people who had attended the practice. People described the practice as being welcoming and friendly.

People spoke very positively about the quality of the service they had received. One person told us, 'I am extremely happy with the treatment and the practice.' People we spoke with told us that everything was always explained to them. People said they felt involved in making decisions about the dental care they received. They told us they were given the information they needed about their treatment and the costs involved.

During our inspection we saw the practice was clean and tidy. Processes were in place to ensure that equipment was safe to use and high levels of cleanliness maintained. People we spoke with said the surgery always looked clean and they were satisfied with the standards of cleanliness.

The practice had processes in place to monitor people's views about the service offered. People told us that they had never had cause to complain about the service they had received.

We were given positive feedback about the approach of all of the staff.
