During a routine inspection
People we spoke with told us that they had used the service for a number of years and were very happy with it. They said that their dentist always involved them in making decisions about the treatment they needed. They said they were informed about the different treatment options available to them and the costs involved.
We were shown around the premises and saw this was maintained to a good standard of cleanliness. We spoke with staff about how they ensured that good infection control practices were maintained. We were satisfied that appropriate policies and procedures were in place to protect people from the risk of infection.
Staff told us about the training they received and how they were supervised and their work appraised. We reviewed staff training records, these confirmed that staff received an appropriate level of training to fulfil their respective roles and their performance was monitored.
We discussed with the dentist how service quality was monitored and saw that a range of audits were undertaken and that the views of people who used the service were sought on a regular basis.
