During a routine inspection
Patients received appropriate information concerning their care and treatment. A patient we spoke with said "He [the dentist] always explains it [the treatment] exactly as it will be". We saw entries in patient records detailing discussions about treatment options.
Patients received treatment that was assessed and delivered in a way to ensure patients' safety and welfare. A patient told us "I'm asked to update my medical history every time and sign it too". We saw patients updating their medical history records.
A patient we spoke with said 'the surgery is always absolutely clean'. The practice operated processes, and followed procedures, that minimised the risk and spread of infection because current guidelines were followed.
Staff were supported to carry out their roles. We saw that staff received training specific to their job and that they received an annual review of their performance.
Patient records and other records were checked and found fit for purpose and easily located.
