From speaking to a provider’s representative and clinical lead, it was evident they were committed in ensuring, oversight and governance was well-embedded into the service. The service had 1 experienced clinical lead and a registered manager who understood their role and regulatory responsibilities. The leadership team were able to articulate how they were currently reviewing their governance and systems to further improve the care that people received.

Arrangements were in place to formally assess, review and monitor the quality of care provided at the home. This included regular audits of accidents and incidents, safeguarding, recruitment and care plans. Findings from these reviews were used to improve the quality of care provided by the service for example, following a full review of the quality monitoring system, the provider took the decision that a more advanced system was needed. We saw evidence of how this new system was being embedded within the service.
