Our view of the service
Date of assessment 14 April 2024 to 31 May 2024. Fareni Lifecare Ltd is a domiciliary care agency that provides personal care to adults and older people in their own homes. The assessment was carried out in response to the quality of care records supplied to us as part of the dormancy process. The service came out of dormancy in February 2024. At the time of the assessment, the service was providing care to 8 people, some of who were living with complex care needs. We identified 4 breaches in relation to safe care and treatment, governance, fit and proper persons employed and staffing. This meant people using the service were at risk of harm. The assessment was completed remotely by an inspector. As part of the assessment, we spoke with the registered manager, 1 care assistant, 8 people who use the service and 1 relative.
People's experience of this service
Peoples care needs had not been fully assessed, and individual risks had not been identified. Personalised care records were not being kept for everyone using the service. People were not supported by staff who had been employed safely, and had not received training or competency checks to ensure they were delivering a good quality of care. The registered manager did not know people who used the service, and did not seek peoples feedback. There were no effective governance arrangements in place to monitor and improve outcomes for people using the service. However, people told us they felt safe, and were happy with the service provided to them.
