Our current view of the service

Updated 2 August 2024

We carried out this onsite announced assessment on 20 November 2024. The report may not detail all the findings from the day, although the inspection was completed in line with our current methodology, gathering evidence from numerous sources to evaluate the service. We found the practice had met regulations. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. Some systems to manage risks needed strengthening. The practice did not have arrangements to ensure staff training was up-to-date and reviewed at the required intervals, staff had not completed training in emergency resuscitation within the required time frame and clinicians needed to update themselves with some guidelines. This was addressed by the provider immediately following our assessment. The practice is in Bromsgrove and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice. The practice had 2 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, the receptionist and the practice manager.
