During a routine inspection

We spoke with people who used the service and their relatives. People we spoke with told us they were satisfied with the standard and quality of the care provided. People told us their privacy was respected and their dignity was maintained. However, we found evidence that people were not always involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

People told us they felt well cared for and they received the treatment they expected. However, we found evidence during our inspection that people's care and treatment was not always planned and delivered in a way that ensured people's safety and welfare.

Staff we spoke with demonstrated to us a clear understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults from abuse guidance and procedures. People we spoke with told us they felt safe living at Wyndham House.

We found that appropriate checks were not always undertaken before staff started working at Wyndham House.

The provider took account of complaints and comments to improve the service. People's views were actively taken into account and acted on.

During a routine inspection

People living in the home all have dementia and associated communication difficulties. During our visit we spent time talking to people living in the home but the topics of conversation were about other subjects rather than about how they feel about living in the home. We spent time observing staff providing support to the people living in the home.

During our visit we spoke to two relatives and they both said that they were very happy with the care being provided to their relatives. One said that the 'staff are very welcoming to us, they know him well and are very caring'. Another said that all of the staff 'from top to bottom' care about their relative.
