Date of assessment 29 October 2024.
Kings Court is a ‘care home’ providing personal care and support to older people and people living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, the service was supporting 31 people with their personal care needs.
This was our first assessment at Kings Court. New services are assessed to check they are likely to be safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led when they register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
We assessed a total of 105 quality statements from the safe, effective, responsive, caring, and well-led key questions and found areas of good practice.

People spoke positively about the service and told us they felt safe. Staff understood safeguarding procedures and were confident in reporting any concerns. People’s care plans involved people and included their specific needs. Risk assessments were in place to guide staff.
People had been supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported people in the least restrictive way as possible. Staff were aware of people’s preferences and wishes. We observed people receiving person centred care throughout the inspection. We observed staff treating people with kindness, empathy, and compassion. Staff had developed positive relationships with people.
