During a routine inspection
There were policies and procedures in place to ensure people gave informed consent to treatments. People wrote " X (staff member) always smiles and answers all my questions very patiently". There was evidence in people's records to demonstrate staff checked for medical changes and confirmed the person's consent to the treatment at each treatment session. There were arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies and emergency medication and equipment was readily available.
Staff were available to provide treatments and had received training in basic life support and the use of the prescribed technology equipment. Systems were in place to ensure equipment used in the clinic was maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and risk and safety checks were completed by a certified Laser Protection Advisor.
