During an inspection looking at part of the service
joint occupancy; on the day of our visit, there were 12 people living at the home.
We met all of the people living at Chatsworth House. Some people had only recently come to live at Chatsworth House, while others had lived there for many years.
All of the people who lived at Chatsworth House had a diagnosis of a dementia. There were some people who lived at the home with limited communication, some people were able to express their views clearly whilst others could not.
We did not fully discuss all of the outcomes with the people who live in the home as their dementia did not give them sufficient understanding of the questions we would have asked.
We asked people about how they were being supported and what the staff were like. Responses from people were mixed. Two people told us they thought the staff were "good" and 'friendly". Due to the communication difficulties of the other people living at the home no other comments were made.
Visitors to the home had told us they were concerned about the staffing levels in the home and that people living in the home appeared unkempt.
Three relatives who were visiting told us the staff were kind, but that they always seemed to be too busy.
