During a routine inspection

People told us they were involved in their plan of care. Staff treated people with dignity. One person said about staff "they're great. Very caring. I can't think of anything negative to say." Another person told us "the service is first class. They're thoughtful. They look out for you."

Staff were knowledgeable about the people they cared for. People were aware of how to report concerns. Staff knew about the signs of abuse and how to report their concerns.

Staffing levels had improved. One person said 'the time keeping is good. The office will ring if they (staff) are not going to be on time.' Another person told us 'staff are rarely late. They organise the rota to provide continuity." We saw there had been complaints about late visits and changes in staff providing care. The provider had begun to address these issues.

We saw the provider had systems in place to monitor the quality of the service.

Staff were supported with regular supervision and ongoing essential training. We saw there was a comprehensive induction programme for new staff.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to a number of people who used the service and some relatives. Feedback was positive. One relative told us 'I cannot speak highly enough of them; I know I can rely on them.' They told us that the staff were always on time, saying 'I could set my watch by them'. Other people told us that they liked the continuity of care provided by the agency. They said that they generally received care from allocated carers who they were able to get to know. They said that the staff were friendly and caring and often 'went beyond the call of duty'. For instance, one relative told us that their spouse's care worker had helped them to put their shopping away.
