During a routine inspection

We spoke to a relative of a person who uses the service and they told us that they 'get their own say so' and that they 'can come and whenever he wants'. This person told us that they were comfortable talking to staff and they described how the service supported them in going on holidays both home and abroad with a specialist tour operator.

We spoke to another person with the help and support of care staff and they responded 'yes' to questions about whether they were looked after. This person then expressed a desire to no longer participate in the interview and care staff were very clear that their wishes should be respected.

We spoke to a relative of a person who uses the service at they said the service was 'brilliant in every way'.

Another family member told us that they were involved in regular review meetings which also involved their relative in the discussions.

We spoke to the person who uses the service and they described how their needs were well looked after and we noted that what we were told correlated well with the information in that person's care plan.

We spoke to a person who uses the services about whether they felt safe and what they might do if they didn't. They told us that they would speak to staff about any concerns and they appeared confident to do so.

We spoke to a relative of a person who uses the service and they said they had no worries about the safety of the person and gave an example of when they had raised concerns which had been dealt with.

Another relative said that they too felt free to tell the service provider of any concerns that they had. They said they knew their relative was safe.

When we spoke to people who use the service they told us that they were visited by the manager who asked them if things were alright. We saw that these meetings were documented in the care plans and acted on as necessary.
