During an inspection looking at part of the service
We spoke with people, who were able, who told us that they felt cared for by the staff at the home. We saw that staff were kind and supportive to people and treated them with dignity and respect. We saw that staff asked people before undertaking care and involved them by providing choices of how the wanted to spend their day.
People, who were able, told us that they liked the meals at the home and we saw meals being delivered in an organised manner. People who needed help to eat and drink were seen to be assisted in a dignified and thoughtful manner.
We saw that current research into mealtime organisation has been implemented and we are told by staff this has been a positive change for people using the service.
We saw that people appeared comfortable and settled in the home. Some aspects of the home were unsafe and we have been assured by the management of the home that these areas have been addressed.
People, who were able, told us that the staff were kind and caring. we observed staff behaving in a professional manner and they demonstrated a understanding of dementia care.
