During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the service. They told us that the service worked closely with them to ensure their needs and wishes were met.

Comments included; 'They do ask me every time, what I want' and "they talk to me about my care and change it if I ask them or need anything." People told us that had copies of their care records and they were regularly consulted.

We also spoke with four family members whose relatives used the service. All family members said that they considered the care to be good. Comments included; "I am very satisfied with everything they do' and "The girls are excellent'.

We saw that the service had recruitment processes in place to ensure that people received care from people who were suitable to deliver care, that staffing was planned effectively and that staff received a comprehensive induction and ongoing training to maintain their competence and skills.

During our visit we saw the service had systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service delivered and that people who used the service were asked for feedback on the service they received.

In this report the name of a registered manager appears who was not in post and not managing the regulatory activity at this location at the time of the inspection. Their name appears because they were still a registered manager on our register at the time.

During a routine inspection

In this report the name of a registered manager appears who was not in post and not managing the regulatory activities at this location at the time of the inspection. Their name appears because they were still a Registered Manager on our register at the time.

The Registered Manager in post was given short notice of our inspection to ensure her availability on the day of the inspection.

We spoke with four people who used the service. They told us that the service worked closely with them to ensure their needs and wishes were met. All four people we spoke with said staff respected their privacy and their dignity.

We also spoke with three family members whose relatives used the service. All the family members said that their relatives received care that met their needs. Comments included: 'she is safe and well looked after' and 'I've no worries here.'

During our visit we looked at the care and support plans for four people who used the service. We saw that care documentation contained information about the person's care needs and how staff were to support them.

We found that systems were in place to ensure people were protected from the risk of harm and abuse and that training and development activities were planned to ensure staff were able to provide support that met people's needs.

We also saw evidence to show that people were regularly consulted about all aspects of the care and service provided to them with timely feedback provided by the service.
