During an assessment under our new approach

Date of Assessment: 11 November to 14 November 2024. The service is a care at home service providing support to children and younger adults with a learning disability and autistic people, as well as those living with physical disabilities or sensory needs. At the time of our inspection 28 people were being supported with personal care. An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability . We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. People were supported to express their views and opinions in various ways. People had different ways of communicating and staff understood how best to share information for people to make their own choices and decisions. The service had facilitated people to participate in numerous activities and interests which enhanced their quality of life. The provider, registered manager and staff team were passionate about people's well-being and went above and beyond to help people achieve their goals and aspirations by building their confidence and breaking down barriers to increase independence. Relatives and professionals described how people received excellent personalised care and support that was tailored to people’s needs and preferences. The registered manager and provider were visible and exceptionally supportive to both people and staff. They were instrumental in continually developing the service to meet and maximise people's outcomes. The culture of the service was extremely friendly, open and transparent where people's and staff voices were listened to in order to continually improve the quality of care. Highly effective auditing systems were in place
