Ruislip Nursing Home is a ‘care home’. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as a single package under one contractual agreement. Ruislip Nursing Home is a care home with nursing care. CQC regulates both the premises and the care provided, and both were looked at during this assessment. The service is registered to accommodate up to 31 younger and older adults. At the time of our assessment 28 people were living there. Date of assessment: 26 November to 29 November 2024. We carried out 2 unannounced site visits to the service. The last rating for this service was requires improvement (published 22 October 2022) when we identified breaches of Regulations relating to safe care and treatment and good governance. We carried out this assessment to follow up these breaches and make sure the provider had made the required improvements. We found enough improvements had been made to health and safety, the environment and governance systems. This meant the provider was no longer breaching any regulations. People lived in a safe and well-maintained environment. The provider worked in partnership with people, their families and external professionals to assess risks and plan personalised care and treatment. People received their medicines in a safe way and received safe and individualised care. Staff were kind and caring and responded when people needed help. The staff felt well supported. There were systems to ensure they were appropriately recruited and trained. The provider had effective systems and processes for monitoring and improving the quality of the service in line with best practice.
