During a routine inspection
We saw that care plans promoted independence. We read in one person's care plan how important it was to that person to be able to maintain their independence. When we spoke with the person they told us that they felt they were supported to be able to live as independently as possible within the home. During meal times and throughout our visit we saw several examples of staff providing an appropriate level of support enabling people to support themselves.
One person who used the service told us that staff gave them a menu every day with a choice of meals and they said 'if you don't like the choices you can have something else'.
When talking about their room, one person told us 'I've got my own little home here'. Another person we spoke with told us 'If you can't live at home, this is the next best place.
One of the people we spoke with who lived at the home enjoyed the performing arts and they told us that they had been taken to two shows while living at the home.
We were told by one person that staff were 'very kind' and two people told us that they were 'very happy'. We were told that if they wanted something then staff would get it for them.
People visiting their friend told us that staff were very attentive.
