During a routine inspection

We spoke with one person who used the service and two relatives and they told us:

People felt they had a choice in respect to the care that they received.

People were involved in making decisions about the care and support they received from the service.

People's care was provided by care workers who were flexible to help facilitate any changes to their support that was required.

People and their relatives felt able to raise issues or concerns with the agency's management and felt confident that they would be dealt with appropriately.

One person who used the service told us 'I am very happy with them [Sussex Homecare] and my girls are very happy with them too'. The one person we spoke with who used the service or the two relatives told us that the care workers treated them or their relative with dignity and respect at all times. Another person we spoke with told us that 'care workers were very supportive and helped them in a friendly and unhurried way'.

We spoke with the manager, a senior care worker and two care workers during our visit. The two care workers told us that they were very happy working for the agency. They both told us that they were well supported by the manager and had received the training and supervision required to meet individual people's care needs. One care worker we spoke with told us 'it is a fantastic company to work for, the management always support us no matter what time of day or night and we can approach them with any issues'.
