During a routine inspection
When we visited Tall Trees the registered manager was at a meeting. We saw contact details in the entrance hall for the senior staff on duty. The deputy manager and nursing staff made themselves available to us during our visit.
We spoke with five people living in the home, one told us “I have been in two other homes and this is by far the best”, another told us “I like it here I am treated very well.” One person said “the staff are very kind and caring.” Another person told us that they felt that their opinions were taken into account.
The service had enough staff on duty to meet the needs of the people. One person said “they ask me if everything is all right”.
We saw cleaning taking place in various parts of the service during our visit.
The service had quality assurance processes in place to assess the quality of the service they were providing. People were asked to comment and have an input into the running of the service.
We have judged the service to be non –compliant due to errors found in the recording of medication administration. Also where covert medication was being given, this was not clearly recorded who had been consulted and why this procedure was necessary.
