During a routine inspection
Other comments about the staff included, 'I'm looked after. The staff should all have awards for what they do'. Someone else said, 'the staff are fantastic, I don't know how they do it, they all work so hard.' Another comment was, 'I don't know how they put up with us, I wouldn't do what they do'.
People who used the service told us they felt safe in the home, and they could approach staff if they had a problem. One person said, 'I'm safe here and if I have a problem I can talk to any of the staff.'
People we met made other positive comments about the care and support they were receiving. We were told 'the staff are good, they are very easy going', 'I like it here', 'it's ok here and the food is good and you can do activities if you want to. I don't though as I got to take it easy', ' Another person told us about when they first came into the home, ' I had no choice but to come here, but I like it now', ' I like living with other people', another person said 'its ok living here, I find it nice and restful', When we were in the dining room a resident told us 'We have a good choice of food, we are offered at least two choices a day'.
A relative we spoke with told us, 'my sister is very happy at the home, the officers and the staff are very approachable, caring and kind, nothing is too much trouble for them'.
Another relative told us, 'my husband has both physical care needs and can get a little depressed at time, the staff are very good and approachable, if I have any worries or questions I can always speak to them and they update me on my husbands care'.
We spoke to a visiting professional who told us that they visited the home on a regular basis, that the staff team were caring, supportive and consistent within their approach towards residents. They told us that communication between them and the home was good, staff followed through with advice given to them and this resulted in positive outcomes for people with their rehabilitation.
