During a routine inspection
One relative told us 'I am very satisfied with the service. Care workers have been going in a long time to my relative and there have been no problems.' Another relative said 'I am quite impressed by the standard of care provided by Featherbed Home Care Limited.'
During our inspection we found evidence to indicate that Featherbed Home Care Limited was providing an introductory service, that is, introducing self employed care staff to provide care to people in their own homes and not a domiciliary care service, that is, employing their own staff to provide personal care to people in their own homes. A domiciliary care service providing personal care is regulated under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. An introductory service would not be required to be registered under this current legislation.
However, as this provider and location were registered to provide personal care to people in their own homes we decided as this was the first inspection under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 it would be treated as such to judge compliance with the regulations. The provider would be expected to be in a position to provide that service if requested to by a member of the public.
