Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 30 January to 5 February 2025. Goldwell Manor Care Home is a residential care home providing regulated activity to adults over the age of 65, people living with dementia and people who have physical disabilities. There were 63 people using the service at the time of our assessment. This is the first assessment of this service; we found the service worked well with people to understand them and manage any risks they identified. Care was provided by skilled staff who were proactive in anticipating people’s needs and providing kind and compassionate care. We found the service to be exceptionally clean and well maintained, technology was used to support people’s safety and provide information. People’s care plans detailed important information, and these were regularly reviewed and were followed by staff. Staff were passionate about delivering good quality care and fully respected people’s privacy and dignity. The service was exceptional at enabling people to share their feedback and ideas and the registered manager promptly acted on implementing any changes required to improve people’s experiences. The provider had a very clear shared vision strategy and culture which was shared by staff and embedded in their day to day practice. People’s wellbeing had significantly improved by staff working in partnership with external stakeholders. The service had built relationships with services in the local area to ensure people had opportunities to be part of the local community. Staff and leaders actively listened to people and understood inclusivity by recognising the barriers people could face. Staff supported people to overcome these barriers by ensuring people had equal access to services and activities.
