During an inspection looking at part of the service

This review was a follow up to a visit undertaken on 9 November 2011 at which when we made compliance actions in three of the assessed outcome areas.

People we spoke with said that there was significant improvement in how care workers supported them with their care needs. They told us that care workers were aware of what was required and received good support from senior staff. 'Care workers have information about my needs and there is a care plan in place to guide them'.

We were also informed that the office staff now listened and took appropriate action when contacted about a concern or complaint. 'The staff in the office were very helpful and will try to sort out your query as quickly as possible'.

During a routine inspection

People that used the service told us that they were respected and that they made decisions about their care. They said 'The support I receive is very good.' 'Care workers carry out their job in a professional manner when they assist me.' One relative we spoke with was very disappointed with the service their family member had received and stated that some of their care needs had not been met.

People we spoke with said that care workers made them feel safe. Most people we spoke with said that their care workers were well trained and caring. People using the service said that they were consulted and were invited to give their views about their support.
