During a routine inspection
We were shown a comments book which had photographs of people using the service carrying out recreational activities and their comment on the activity. Some of the entries next to individual activities included comments such as 'I enjoy working in the caf'.'
We saw how staff involved themselves in the daily routines of people using the service, such as escorting them from the bus stop. We saw the way people using the service choose to interact with staff in a positive meaningful way, such as saying what they were expecting from their day, asking staff how they were and hugging staff.
People using the service were involved in their community. For example the day after the inspection several people were going to the local pub for their Christmas lunch. People said they felt safe with staff and could tell them if they had a concern.
The care plans had enough detail to support staff in ensuring that the people using the service have their individual needs met.
