During a routine inspection
One told us that the care they had received was 'amazing' and that their preoperative assessment was 'thorough'. They also said that the food was 'brilliant' and 'well presented.'
Another patient told us that nursing staff were 'brilliant' and that the doctor was skilled at taking blood and inserting needles painlessly. They said the food was 'excellent' and the hospital had made efforts to find food that would tempt them when they had felt unwell.
A third patient said 'I can't fault the care in any way' and that the nursing staff were 'marvellous'. Their opinion of the food was that it was of restaurant quality.
We looked at arrangements for the recruitment of staff and saw that this was done safely and qualifications were checked.
The hospital had suitable arrangements in place to get feedback from patients and to manage risks through its governance arrangements.
There were suitable arrangements in place to deal with complaints which were brought to the attention of patients. We sampled complaints and saw that they were dealt with according to the hospital's procedures.
