During a routine inspection
We saw that people were encouraged to be as independent as they were able to be and to make day to day choices. We noted that arrangements were in place which ensured that peoples physical health needs were addressed. While records were available promptly for us to view, we noted that one person's records contained unclear information about medication. We saw that two records had not been updated when they were required.
We spoke with that staff that were able to explain in detail the care needs of the people they supported.
We found that some staff had not had all of their required training refreshed within the provider's timescale.
We spoke with representatives of people who used the service and they told us that they were very pleased with the care and support that their family member was getting from Perthyn, 'the staff are very friendly and very helpful'. Another person told us that there had been a positive difference in the last few months, 'there is now more consistency and staff are willing to listen to feedback'.
