During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the service. They told us they were treated with consideration and respect. Comments included, 'The staff were very non judgemental, professional and made me feel at ease' and, 'They spoke to me like a friend and were really friendly'.

Everyone we spoke with told us they had received a thorough consultation. They said they had received enough information to make an informed decision about their treatment options. People said they were given time to consider these and were told they could always change their mind.

People described the staff as 'kind' and 'helpful'. They considered staff were efficient and knowledgeable about the range of procedures. Staff confirmed they had attended training courses appropriate to their role and felt supported in their work.

Staff were aware of their role and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding vulnerable people. They were confident in their responses in what they would do if they suspected abuse.

People had access to a complaints procedure. They told us they had not had cause to complain but were confident any concerns would be listened to and appropriately addressed.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We carried out this review to check on the care and welfare of people using this service. We did not review every outcome for this provider. We were proportionate in our approach and focused on outcomes four and 16.

We spoke with three people who used the service to gain their experiences of the service they had received. People said they were satisfied with the service they had received. They said the staff were kind and explained the options available to them. One person told us, 'It was good because I didn't feel they were judging me'. They said they had the right amount of information given to them to make an informed decision. They said staff explained the treatment options available to them and gave them time to ask questions. People said they felt listened to and were able to make choices about their treatment.

We spoke with four staff to include the registered manager and the clinic consultation manager. Staff told us about their role and responsibilities and gave examples of how they maintained people's privacy and dignity. One member of staff said, 'People often feel anxious and afraid but after discussion and exploring options they are better informed and can always change their mind'.

Following treatment people are asked to complete a satisfaction survey to share their experiences of the service they received and to offer any suggestions for improvement.
