During a routine inspection

We spoke with five people and four visitors. Other people sat in the lounge and staff members were spoken with more briefly. The majority of people spoken told us there was not enough staff on duty at all times. One person told us they had been left on the toilet and staff had not assisted them in a timely manner. They stated,' You can't rely on anyone being around'. They told us you had to wait at times before the call bell is answered. This was echoed by another person who stated, 'Sometimes I have to wait for the call bell to be answered, but I do not mind as I know people have more needs than me'. Two relatives told us they can sometimes sit in the lounge and not see a staff member for hours. They did state during this time no one called out or used the alarm call system for assistance.

Staff told us they enjoyed working in the home. They told us they worked as a team and received good support from the management team. They told us they were able to meet people's needs and that staffing levels had recently been increased.

Visitors told us they were made welcome and always offered a beverage.

People and visitors told us if they had and concerns or complaints they would discuss these with the manager. They told us they had every confidence the management team would take their concern or complaint very seriously.

People told us they enjoyed the meals in the home. We were told there was a choice at meal times and people could have their meals where they wished, in their own room, in the dining room or in the lounge.
