During a routine inspection
During our visit, we observed that a medical emergency occurred. The home made sure that their personal privacy and dignity were maintained throughout all of the period when they needed emergency attention, and when they were recovering. At a mealtime, there were sufficient staff available to support people in all of the dining areas of the home so staff could help people as they needed. One person was not sure of how to feed themselves, but once they had been prompted by a care worker, they recalled what to do and were able to eat independently. Care workers observed promptly if a person lost concentration when eating, and came to help them.
Some parts of the home, some furniture and equipment were deteriorating, including surfaces which could not be wiped down easily. Certain pieces of equipment needed more attention to cleanliness and some fire doors needed maintenance.
