During a routine inspection

People we spoke with told us that The Avenues, 6 Peel Way was a good place to live. Relatives told us that staff were respectful and took care of people's needs. One relative told us 'it's really good. He always seems happy'. One person told us that they were happy that they had things to do and that they liked the staff, saying 'I like it here, I like going out with (staff) and playing boccia (a bowling game)'. Another relative told us 'I am happy that my son is being looked after. They always let me know what's going on. I've got no complaints at all'.

We also found that people were safeguarded against the risk of abuse, that there were enough suitable staff who received ongoing training and that regular checks of the quality and safety of the service took place.

During a routine inspection

People looked cared for and relaxed throughout our visit.

People who use services appeared confident in their environment and at ease with staff.

Staff said they felt they had a good understanding of people's needs.

Staff were able to identify people's strengths as well as support needs and were positive in their discussions about people.
