During a routine inspection

People's needs were assessed and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. People told us they were involved in planning their care and that they did not have to wait long for an appointment. There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. People we spoke with told us they found the premises clean. Comments included "it's so clean here" and "it looks clean to me." We found the premises were well maintained and steps had been taken to ensure they were safe, such as fire alarm tests. People were made aware of the complaints system and complaints were fully investigated and resolved, where possible, to people's satisfaction. People told us they had not had to make a complaint. However, they were aware of who they could complain to if required. One person said "I would tell the staff at reception." We found records were stored securely and were accurate and up to date.

During a routine inspection

The provider has in place a system to monitor the quality of the service provided. This included audits, incidents reporting and a complaints process. During our inspection we were shown evidence of learning from incidents the methods used to communicate the lessons learnt from incidents to staff.

The provider has a mandatory training programme for staff. Staff also told us they had access to additional training appropriate for primary care services.

We spoke with people who use the service who said they felt engaged in discussions about their care that they were satisfied with their visit to the surgery. Comments from people who use the service included, 'they do their best for you, willing to oblige.' I feel listened to' and I feel that they know what they are talking about.'
