During a routine inspection

We were unable to speak with people who used the service due to the short time they were in the service, and due to the nature of their appointments. We noted that some people had completed feedback forms prior to leaving which were positive about the service.

Before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. Where people did not have the capacity to consent, such as people with mental health conditions, the provider had not acted in accordance with legal requirements.

We saw that people were provided with care and treatment that met their individual needs. We saw evidence that people had care assessments completed that were specific to the reason they attended the service.

We found that there was a sufficient number of staff to meet the needs of the service. The service had contingency measures in place to ensure the service was adequately staffed at all times.

We found that the systems operated within the service enabled information to be shared with other providers. These included the ambulance service, acute care services, community services and primary care services such as the person's GP.

We found that medication was regularly audited and that it was kept securely. The service had a clear policy in place for the management of medication that was adhered to. The staff had received medication training.

During a routine inspection

When we visited, there were no appointments booked to enable us to speak directly with people who use the service. However, it was noted from the provider's patient satisfaction surveys that there is a high rate of satisfaction with the provider's services.
