During a routine inspection
People were able to make choices about their lifestyle and told us they had been asked about their religious beliefs, preferred routines and food likes and dislikes. We saw that staff always knocked on bedroom doors and called people by their chosen term of address.
We found that people's physical health care needs were assessed and care was delivered in a way that helped to ensure their safety, welfare and wellbeing. Records and risk assessments kept were clear and reflected peoples care needs.
People were satisfied with the range of activities on offer at the home and particularly enjoyed the trips out.
People we spoke with were very complimentary about the staff team and were complimentary about the skills of the staff. One person said 'They are so confident. They know what they are doing and work very hard.'
The care staff we spoke with had a good knowledge of what people's needs were and how to meet those needs.
Staff had a good knowledge about the different types of abuse and knew how to raise and escalate concerns. People knew how to complain and were able to share their views.
The home was clean and well maintained. The provider had systems in place to formally and informally monitor the quality of the service.
