During a routine inspection
When asked about staff, one person told us '[staff are] very kind. Always willing to help.' Two people mentioned a particular member of staff they liked a lot and also said everyone really enjoyed it when this person was working with them.
The three care planning records we looked at showed that each person had a personal care plan. This provided details to staff about the best ways to support each person, how people preferred to be cared for and what each person prefers to do each day.
Staff demonstrated awareness of what situations could be classed as potential abuse and what they must do if they suspected that anyone had come to harm. We saw details of staff training in protecting vulnerable adults from abuse and details of planned training.
On the day of this inspection we found sufficient numbers of staff were available to serve the meal and to support people who required help to eat.
All prescribed medicines were available at the home on the day of the visit. We found no gaps in the recording of when medicines were given to people.
We saw details of training that staff had received in the past twelve months. This showed that an appropriate training programme was available.
