People who used the service told us that carers respected them. One person we spoke with said 'my carer is there when I wake up and helps me to get washed and get my breakfast' Another told us 'I only have to ask' and the 'nice lady' helps me with my chores. Another person we spoke with said 'It's nice to have someone to talk to' it 'keeps me in touch'. ''I don't know what I'd do without them'. We spoke with some carers who told us that they had regular supervision meetings with the registered manager or a senior carer. They also told us that they could access advice and support from the registered manager and or the senior carer when required. Care plans were detailed and took account of people's individual needs and how this would be supported. We saw the provider took adequate steps to protect the people they cared for and their carers from harm but needed to make improvements to ensure that they had a working policy on safeguarding. We also saw that the provider needed to make improvements to their quality assurance system so that the services they provide are better monitored to ensure a good service.
