During a routine inspection
During our visit we found peoples' contribution to discussions and decision making about their or their relatives' care to be documented. We saw that arrangements were in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies including the provision of emergency equipment and appropriate staff training. We found that the doctors working at the service were appropriately qualified and registered with a licence to practise and were knowledgeable in such things as protecting people from the risk of abuse.
We found that the service had quality monitoring systems in place and people were able to share their views and opinions about the service. We noted that from May 2012 a system was in place to monitor post circumcision procedure infections and take action to prevent the recurrence of the incidents reported.
The parents of a child undergoing a procedure said of their experience of the Thornhill Clinic: "We are very satisfied with everything we have seen and heard on our visit here".
