During a routine inspection
They told us that they had been provided with a Service Users Guide. They said this gave them important information about the home such as access to General Practitioners and health care providers, staffing, meals and how to make a complaint.
One person told us that they had recently filled in a survey for the registered provider and had completed these before.
One person told us 'I go to day services three days a week and I visit my friends at an old peoples home'.
Another person told us 'I go to the gym on Mondays, go shopping on Tuesdays, I work at the British Heart Foundation shop on Wednesdays and go to college on Thursdays at the weekend I go to stay with my family, staff treat me with respect and they are really helpful'.
People told us they had care plans and they had discussed their care and support needs with staff.
One person told us 'I have a care plan, I had a review last week and I know what's in it, I can tell staff what I want at the service and they will try to do it for me, they are very good at that, I wanted to work on the allotments and they sorted that out for me'.
People told us there was always enough staff around to meet their needs; they told us they were supported by staff to maintain their independence.
One person told us 'there is usually one person on shift and this is enough to look after us, we do most things for ourselves and we are usually out doing our own things'.
