Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 08 August 2024 to 21 August 2024 As part of our assessment methodology for people with a learning disability and autistic people, we assess if services are meeting the Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture (RSRCRC) statutory guidance. This includes: Right support: Model of care and setting maximises people's choice, control, and independence. Right care: Care is person-centred and promotes people's dignity, privacy, and human rights. Right culture: Ethos, values, attitudes and behaviours of leaders and care staff ensure people using services lead confident, inclusive, and empowered lives. This is the services first inspection, and we assessed all the quality statements under the key questions of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. We found people were receiving exceptional care in some key questions and have rated the key questions of Effective, Caring and Well-led as Outstanding. Please see the report for full details.
People's experience of this service
Without exception people were being supported to live their lives the way they chose to. They were supported to be fully in control of the support they had and made choices in every single aspect of their lives. As a result of the outstanding support people received, they had been supported to achieve excellent outcomes in line with their own personal preferences and ambitions. Whilst people were unable to speak with us using verbal communication, they used signs and body language to show how happy and content they were living at the service. Relatives were delighted with the support their family member received at the service. Their comments included, ‘‘I am delighted we have been lucky enough to find [service for family member] to live. Everything staff do is for the best and I cannot fault any aspect of their support.’’ And ‘‘Hand on heart, I truly believe, in fact I know that [family member] is being supported to live their best life. It was not easy for me to entrust their care to someone else, but I am so assured on a daily basis they are having the best of experiences.’’
